This house has influence from three different periods of American architecture; late victorian, arts & crafts, and federal style. Its not possible to distinguish where one style begins and another ends, the entire house is a blend of all three. Alvarodesign decided to use that mixture in the development of each room. You can see the use of wallpaper in the renovation from the arts & craft as well as neoclassical periods. Some chandeliers are from the biedermeier influence, while others are from the turn of the 18th century. It is difficult to determine exactly which period they belong to; however, together they create a unique style. The chairs are Chippendale based in the new influence of the neoclassic period. The floors were done in natural finishes to bring the out the splendor and craftsmanship of the old days. The rugs were selected to follow softer colors, typical of this period. The lighting was modified to accomodate new electrical bulbs as a replacement to old style candles and gas. The house is still under renovation and will be upgraded with new landscaping in the English garden style.
